There is one festival that for the last 14 years has been THE QUINTESSENTIAL start of the Music Festival season and that is the Jazz in the Gardens Festival in Miami Gardens Florida

On Sunday February 24, 2019, Costume Designer Ruth Carter became the first African American Woman to win an Academy Award of Merit also known as The Oscar for Best Costume Design in a motion picture for her work on Marvel’s Black Panther.
2019 Black Women In Hollywood
MadFlavor TV hits Los Angeles California for the 12th Annual Essence Magazine’s Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon. This years luncheon honorees were Regina Hall, Amandla Stenberg, Jenifer Lewis, and KiKi Layne. Other attendees included: Angela Bassett, Tonya and Spike Lee, Meagan Good, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Loni Love, the 2019 host Kelly Rowland and more.

Uptown Magazine’s Pre-Oscars Hollywood Honors brought out some of Black Hollywood’s elite as they honored Directors Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Think Like A Man, Ride Along, Shaft (2019)) and George Tillman Jr. (Soul Food, The Hate U Give). The Event was hosted by Tai Beauchamp and Actor/Comedian Chris Spencer.
