Randy Ferrell: Delivering real stories on TV
BY: Ashley Gayles (PerisianBlackQueen)
We have reached the finale! One more episode to go in the journey of the NO LIMIT CHRONICLES. Now is a great time to hear what went into creating such a detailed series. I got the chance to dig into the creative mindset of one of the other men behind the vision in creating the “NO LIMIT CHRONICLES” five-part series. Executive producer Randy Ferrell (IMDb.com) is the face you may not see often in front of the camera, but we have been watching shows and series that he has done. Does the name ring a bell? Well, if you watched “DEATH ROW CHRONICLES” in 2018 or E! True Hollywood Stories in 2019, then you have already witnessed his creative ingenuity.
Ferrell worked closely with Master P and the NO Limit family to create the open and relatable storyline unfolding before us. Randy discusses the importance of learning and research when being able to put together and tell the detailed-oriented story. This “Philly” native, self-described as an “old school soul” talented producer, also mentions how even the city of New Orleans is a character in the series, how his time living in the city helped with his research for this project, and also how he listened to all of No Limit Records tracks and albums in his research. Watch the interview as the “Rags to Riches” story continues to unravel, because great research makes for a great production and I am enjoying how the story is being told and the overall tone of message that’s being set.
